 Editing

Editing is one of the most challenging and time-consuming parts of the writing process. It often requires a fresh set of eyes and strong attention to detail.

As an experienced editor with years of editing education, I have helped authors take their stories and concepts from idea to polished manuscript. Using my background in positive psychology, I aim to bring strengths-based feedback to my clients, helping you further develop your writing strengths while empowering your growth as a writer.

My greatest strength is in helping writers identify and amplify the heart of their story or lesson to captivate their target audience. If you're looking for a professional editor with an careful and investigative eye, you are in the right place.

My offerings include developmental editing, line editing, query and chapter reviews, and more. Book a free consult today to learn more about how I can help you polish your work.

Writing is a deeply personal process and requires an editor with both the editing skills and emotional intelligence to help writers reach their full potential. Combining my coaching and positive psychology background with my editing education, I collaborate closely with clients to ensure they receive the best possible outcomes for their writing projects.

In addition to chapter and manuscript assessments, I specialize in two types of editing:

Developmental Editing: Developmental Editing focuses on big-picture feedback in two key categories: content and organization. This includes issues that pertain to POV, character development, voice, style, flow, structure, etc. This includes line-by-line revisions and feedback and a 7-10+ page editorial letter highlighting the key challenges of the text and providing a blueprint for how to address them.

Line Editing: Line editing happens at the sentence/paragraph level, focusing on improving the language and style of the text. Where developmental editing focuses on the big picture, line editing assesses how each sentence works in connection with the sentences and context surrounding it.
